AAMLA KA HALWA....

Hello friends...
After such a long gap i am writing this post and hope all of you will like this.

The idea of this post came in my mind as winter has started and in this season everyone in my family  love to eat this healthy amla halwa . So i thought to share this recipe with all of you guys.

As everyone knows that amla is very beneficial for health and a very rich source of Vitamic C.

Amla enhances food absorption, balances stomach acid, fortifies the liver, nourishes the brain and mental functioning, supports the heart, strengthens the lungs, regulates elimination of free radicals, enhances fertility, helps the urinary system, increases skin health, promotes healthier hair, acts as a body coolant, flushes out toxins, increases vitality, strengthens eyes, improves muscle tone and, acts as an antioxidant.
Now i am going to share my recipe....
INGREDIENTS.....
Amla.                     1kg
Sugar.                      250gms
Jaggery.                   250gms
Small cardamom.              10-15pcs
Cinammom.                       3-4 big pcs
Clove.                                 10pcs
Black pepper.                     20-25 

Almonds ,pistacchio and cashewnuts are optional .

METHOD.......
  • First boil amla in pressure cooker.
  • Then remove seeds and grind it to make fine paste.
  • Now in pan take 2-3tbs ghee and melt it.
  • Now  add the amla paste and fry it . Stirr continously else it will stick in bottom.
  • Fry it properly so that all the moisture removes.
  • Grind the above ingredients to make fine powder and add it .
  • Add sugar and jaggary too and mix well .
  • Stirr continously till the paste becomes dry and moisture of sugar removes.
Switch off the flame and allow it to cool.
Now the healthy and delicious amla halwa is ready to eat.
You can store it for weeks  in a air tight container.
If like can have with honey too. This is very healhy for health in winters.

OLIVE OIL ..... BOON FOR HEALTH

Olive oil is truly a culinary paradox. Its smooth rich taste gives food an exotic spin- whether used for cooking or as a dressing . On other hand it's also incredibly healthy. In addition olive oil has been shown to have a positive effect on other aspects of health......

Olive oil and diabetes, ageing and blood pressure....

A diet rich in olive oil is a good alternative in the treatement of diabetes. It may also help prevent or delay the onset of the disease,as documented in both child and adult diabetes .
Olive oil may prevent age related cognitive decline and dementia and is associated with a significant increase in overall longevity.
 Also the olive oil enriched diets have demonstrated beneficial effect in helping to lower blood pressure.

Olive oil and cancer....

Research studies suggest that olive oil exerts a protective effects against various cancers. Eating a healthy diet with olive oil as the main source of fat could considerabely lower the risk of cancer, because of  the vitamins and antioxidants that it conains.
 There is evidence that olive oil influences different stages of carcinogenesis, hormonal levels, cell membrane composition, signal transduction pathways, gene expression, and the immune system. Either its main monounsaturated fatty acid, oleic acid, or the minor compounds may be responsible for its chemo-protective effects. Its bioactive compounds are emerging as potential agents in the treatment of cancer

Olive oil and osteoporosis.....

Olive oil stimulates growth , encourages calcium absorption and bone mineralisation and play an important part during growth and in the prevention of osteoporosis.

Olive oil and skin....

Olive oil has a protective ,toning effect on the skin.
It helps in prevention of the appearences of skin lessions and diminishing the sign of ageing.

Olive oil is also very beneficial for hair. Applying it regularly makes the hair soft , bouncy and strong.

Apart from all these beneficial properties olive oil is a very good cooking oil. The rich , fruity flavour of it enhances the taste of any dish - from salads to grilled , baked and fried dishes.

PAALAK (SPINACH) KA PUNCH

Spinach is a leafy vegetable full of lots of nutrients , vitamins and minerals. This is readily available everywhere and in all seasons. This is the rich source of iron . Also contains vitamins like A,K, magnesium ,phosphorus and vit.B12 too.

Also a good source of selenium , niacine and omega 3fatty acid.

Spinach is loaded with FLAVANOID which act as antioxidants and fight with free radicles.

There are lots of healthy recipies which are made by using spinach . Here is the one  ...

PALAK DAAL....
Ingredients..
Toor daal.                         3/4cup
Chopped spinach.             3cup
Chopped onion.                1/2cup
Ginger garlic paste.           2tbs
Chopped green chilly.       3
Cumin seeds.                     1/2tbs
Turmeric.                           1/4tbs
Oil and salt.                      

METHOD.....

  • Take toor daal ,turmeric and adequate amount of water in pressure cooker and cook. When it cooks well then mash it and keep aside. 
  • Heat the pan and fry cumin seeds and add ginger garlic paste and fry till it becomes brown.
  • Now add green chilly and onion and fry . When the onion becomes golden brown then add spinach,turmeric and  salt.
  • Cook it for 4 to 5 min. and then add toor daal and water and boil it properly .
  • Now garnish with coriender leaves and serve .
Now your healthy and tasty spinach daal is ready to eat with rice and chapaties(bread) .
